Allyson Felix

Allyson Michel Felix was born on the 18th of November 1985, in Los Angeles. Paul Felix, her father was an ordained minister at Master's Seminary Sun Valley. Marlean Felix worked at Balboa Magnet elementary school. Felix was an athlete of the highest level and discovered her love of sprinting while during her time at Los Angeles Baptist High School. At her first attempt she was ranked among the top two athletes in the U.S. Indoor Track and Field Championships in the 200 meters in a mere 10 weeks. In 2003 Felix graduated from high school signing a professional contract with the sports company Adidas and then enrolled in the University of Southern California where she completed her elementary education. The following year, Felix earned her first Olympic medal in the 2004 Summer Olympics in Athens Greece breaking an all-time junior world record running 200 meters at 22.18 seconds. The 2005 Helsinki World Championships saw her become the youngest woman to take home the 200 meters race. In 2007 she defended this title and beat her Jamaican opponent Veronica Campbell. Felix consistently placed within the top third in each of her events in Beijing London Rio de Janeiro Tokyo.
