Bruce Willis

Bruce Willis, an actor and musician is well-known for his sharp-edged character or smart characters in action movies. Together, they have appeared in movies that have grossed more than $2.5 billion dollars. Walter Bruce Willis was born on March 19, 1955, in Idar-Oberstein, West Germany, to a German mother, Marlene Kassel, and an American father, David Andrew Willis (from Carneys Point, New Jersey) and was living at the United States military base. His family emigrated to the U.S. soon after he was born. Willis was raised in Penns Grove by his mother who worked in an institution, and his father who was a welder who was a factory worker and welder. Willis picked up an interest in the drama arts during high school and was allegedly "discovered" whilst working in a café located in New York City and then performed in a few off-Broadway productions. As a bartender one night it was discovered that he was spotted by a casting director who liked his persona and was in need of an bartender for a brief movie role. Willis auditioned for a variety of roles in films but he was not credited. He eventually got the role as David Addison, a private eye, alongside Cybill Shepherd, in the romantic comedy show Moonlighting (1985). His humorous funny, wisecracking P.I. is one of the highlights of his career. Some view it as a practice run for Willis his role in Die Hard (1988), where he single-handedly defeated an international gang of thieves who were stealing from a Los Angeles skyscraper. The sequel, Die Hard 2 (1990) Willis reprised his character in the role of McClane. The story was set in Washington's Dulles International Airport where a group of rebellious Special Forces soldiers are trying to return the corrupt South American general. Strong box office results prompted a further sequel Die Hard with a Vengeance (1995) which, this time co-starring Samuel L. Jackson as the sly Harlem shop owner who has been sucked into helping McClane in the aftermath of a terrorist bombing campaign in the midst of a hot summer day in New York.
